Saved my Lamp

Queries were many
as the boy was crazy,
answers were few and
Old man gone tizzy.

His questions unlimited
but pure was his heart,
and man was unable
To quench his thirst.

Failing in answer
Man replied the boy,
An authentic man can
surely lead you to joy.

Questions unlimited
Thirst growing more,
Kept looking for man
Whose heart was pure.

With lamp in hand
Through day and night,
Boy searched for years
and continued his fight.

Having tired of journey
and efforts relent-less,
One day in mirror
He saw his face.

and started to dance
and laughed in joy,
Old man got anxious
and asked the boy.

Free from anxiety
and no more in swamp,
Replied the boy
I have saved my lamp.

When Silence Speaks

Once Budhha came, with beautiful rose,
and sat under shadow of, tree he chose.
Then Looked at disciples, sitting around,
to listen the master and hear his sound.

Hours were passed, he didn't speak,
as if  ignorant to answers they seek.
Keeping the queries, their worries at bay.
Lord Budhha smiled , had nothing to say.

All gone tizzy had, questions to ask,
but questioning Budhha,a difficult task.
and master enjoying the ultimate bliss,
Looking at flower and resting in peace.

Though body still and not any sound,
mind was restless & running around.
Waited & waited they, sat on the ground,
All of a sudden one, laughter they found.

This was Mahakashyap,touching his feet,
O Master so humble ,so gentle so sweet.
Budhha behold  him with gentle gaze,
And gave him flower, removing his daze.

Destroyed illusion you, cleared my haze,
Disciple was singing, aloud in his praise.
While sitting on ground and giving me rose,
O Budhha you flowed in my heart so close.

Shown me the horse & shown me to ride,
now nothing remaining, for you to guide.
If still to explain and, something to say,
One thing but certain, all  miss the way.

Revealed in silence that cannot be said,
wisdom through mouth seldom conveyed.
If one is ready ,when  silence speaks,
Then truth is his , ignorance retreats.

The Art of Argument

Every statement in argument one aspect of truth. Every statement put   forward by a person in an argument is manifestation of ego of the     person concern. Neither of statement can be the absolute truth.  Argument is resultant of struggle between different aspect of truth put    forwarded by many person , carrying their ego. Meaning thereby ,  argument is nothing , but struggle between various conflicting EGOS. Putting more ego in cumulative ego of argument, results in clamor,  reaching no where. Imagine the surface of pond. It is plane when   nothing is there on the surface. The moment you put any drop in it, the  calmness of plane surface disturbs, resulting in wave. WHEN YOU SPEAK , YOU AUGUR IT. WHEN SILENT , YOU BETTER THE ARGUMENT. The more input    of drops , results in more waves. The best thing is to wait , then the true picture emerges.Similarly even in argument, when you remain silent,   you contribute more in attaining the true picture. YOU CONTRIBUTE MORE IN AN ARGUMENT, WHEN YOU REMAIN SILENT.

How to Manage Ego?

Once upon a time, there was a Master. He always used to keep a skull with him. He always used to speak of non-violence. He was soft spoken person. However he always used to keep a skull with him, wherever he go. His disciple were not able to understand this.  His disciple asked this question to him as to why he always keep a skull with him. The Master replied that one day he was going to take bath in River. On the way to river his legs struck this skull badly. However this skull did not reply any thing. The Master further explained that this skull must have been a living person one day. This skull must have responded any body  who would have laughed at him. This skull must have laughed at any body in order to boost his ego. This skull must have rebuked somebody getting jealous of something. Now even if I hit this skull with my leg, it is not responding. It is keeping quiet. I keep this skull with me to remind me that one day I will also become like this skull. In case somebody rebukes me, it remind me the futility of my ego. In case somebody laughs at me, it makes me soothe my ego. I am carrying this skull all the time only with a view to calm down my ego.

Epictetus-The brave Greek Philosopher

Epictetus was a Geek philosopher who used to say I exist separately from by body. Anybody can kill my body but not me. In order to test him when his King ordered to break his leg he kept laughing and also advised his king how his legs could easily be broken during this process. He advised the king the ways how his legs could easily be broken . Ultimately his legs were broken and he kept on laughing. He made everybody stunned. He was not only preaching the truth but was actually living it.
Epictetus was one of those mystics of the Western World who matches the height of Eastern yogi. What makes Epictetus different from other philosophers of world is that he was epitome of truth. There was no any difference between his words and deeds. He said that he existence has got nothing to do with his body. His body would be broken but he will also see it that his body was being broken and not him. A very rare category of philosopher saint.

Interpretation of Truth

Once there was a poor person. It was raining heavily. He saw a temple priest who was running fast to reach the temple. The priest was trying to avoid being trapped in train. When the poor person saw the priest doing so, he rebuked the priest and said that priest was doing the contempt of God. When the god is pouring the rain upon the Earth, the priest should not run  fast to avoid it. Rather the priest should embrace the rain. The priest then stopped on the road in rain and as a result suffered from fever.
After 3-4 days the priest was sitting in the temple and was coughing. It was raining again. The priest saw the poor person who was running from Temple to his home and was trying to avoid being trapped in train. When the priest  saw the poor person doing so, he rebuked the poor person and said that he was doing the contempt of God. When the god is pouring the rain upon the Earth, the poor should not run fast to avoid it. Rather the poor person should embrace the rain.
The poor person kept on running fast.
He said the priest, what he was saying. The drops of rain were very valuable. As the drops of rain were being bestowed upon him by God, he was respecting them. The poor man said , he was running fast, because he did not want the drops of rain to come below his feet. He was avoiding being trapped in the rain, because he respect the God.
This the how the common man interprets the truth. The truth is exactly the same. It is universal & omnipresent. When the truth is being perceived by the common man, it is being tarnished by the ego. This is the reason why a person can not take same stand. The interpretation of truth vary from person to person. A man is  clever enough to interpret the truth as per the necessity and  changing situation. When a man grows beyond the boundary of ego, only in that case his eyes are capable enough to perceive the truth in true sense.

Why Samb (Son of Lord Krishna) kidnapped Lakshmana ( The Daughter of Duryodhana)?

Whatsoever strange it may sound but it is the truth that Samb (The son of Lord Krishna) kidnapped Lakshmana ( The daughter of Duryodhana).

Samb- (The son of Lord Krishna) was madly in love with (Lakshmana)- The daughter of Duryodgana. Samb was son of Lord Krishna and Jambwanti. Jambwanti was daughter of Jambwant who married Lord Krishna when Lord Krishna defeated Jambwant in a duel. Lakshmana was daughter if Duryodhana and Bhanumati.

When the marriage ceremony of Abhimanyu and Uttara was going on, at that very much time Samb kidnapped Lakshmana. Duryodhana did not like Krishna and never wanted that his daughter Lakshmana to marry son of Krishna. He also attacked Samb. But because of Lord Balrama he had to agree for marriage.

It is very little known fact that prior to the Mahabharat War , Krishna and Duryodhana has already become closely related to each other as daughter of Duryodhana (i.e. Lakshmana) had become daughter in Law of Lord Krishna.

It is a matter of surprise that how Samb could muster courage to kidnap a woman. This adventure traces its origin from the time of Dhrishrashtra Marriage.

Bhishma Pitamah Kidnapped Amba, Ambika and Ambalika against their desire to marry his younger brother.

Bhishma Pitamah iagain forced the Kandhar Kingdom to marry Gandhari to blind King Dhritrashra.

The theme of kidnapping a women is the theme which has been repeated many times in Mahabharata.

Lord Krishna also Kidnapped Rukmini to marry her , inspite of strong resistance of her brother Rukmin.

Arjun also kidnapped Subhadra (The sister of Lord Krishna) and married her.

Duryidhana himself also married Bhanumati after kidnapping her against her desire.

But there is huge difference between the kidnapping of Bhisma Pitamaha and Duryodhana at one hand the kidnapping of Lord Krishna and Arjuna on the other hand.

Bhisma Pitamaha and Duryidhana kidnapped the women against their desire, while Lord Krishna and Arjuna Kidnapped the women because Rukmini and Subhadra loved them.

Perhaps Samb must have taken inspirarion from his history. Lakshmana and Samb were in deep love with each other. Samb was aware that his father Lord Krishna himself kidnapped Rukmini who loved him. Samb was also aware that his father Lord Krishna helped Arjuna in kidnapping Subhdra. Hence Samb was certain in his mind that his father would not oppose his marrying Lakshmana , even he kidnap her. The reason for kidnapping Lakshman was also become more evident that Duryodhana would never had acceded for marriage of his daughter with Samb. This is the reason why Samb kidnapped Lakshmana and married her.

Hiss but do not Bite

  •           Gautam buddha was travelling a village. When he was about to pass the village , he saw many children were standing in a playground but were not playing. Out of inquisitiveness Budhha went near to them and asked them the reason for not playing their game. One of the child replied that they were not playing because their ball had gone to that direction. The boy pointed towards a big Bunyan tree and said that there a dangerous snake was hiding under the grasses of the tree. Whosoever tried to go there, had to die because of the snake bite. This is the reason why, the boy said ,not playing our game because our ball had gone under that big Bunyan tree, where the dangerous snake was hiding.

  •          Having heard this, Budhha started to move in the direction of big Bunyan tree. Child tried to stop Gautam Bhdhha but no body could succeed. Ultimately Gautam Budhha approached near to big Bunyan Tree. The lucid hiss sound came across his ear and within few minutes the King Cobra appeared before him.

  •            With Red Eyes King Cobra made loud hiss sound to intimidate Gautam Budhha , but of no avail. The snake was surprised with the calmness which was appearing on the face of Gautam Budhha. He tried many ways to instill fear in the mind of Gautam Budhha , but remain ineffective. At last the snake asked Gautam Budhha what was secret of this calmness and strength.

  •              Gautam Budhha replied he was calm because he was not looking to acquire anything. He was fearless because he never intimidate anybody. Budhha asked the snake why he was biting people and there by creating hindrance for his spiritual growth. Snake requested Budhha to teach him the ways to lead life as he also felt useless in leading such life. The snake said he himself was afraid of every body that's why he was trying to bite everybody. At last Gautam Budhha taught the snake , lesson of love and non violence and left the village.

  •                  The snake turned out to be true follower of Gautam Budhha. He stopped biting anybody. He started to live on only dead animals and dried fruits. He never killed anybody. Graduallay everbody started to realize that the snake has become harmless. Now any body could throw piece of rock on the body of snake. But snake never retaliate. Even children started to prick needle in his body , but the snake, instead of biting them, used to run away. Leading the path of not harming others and non-violence costed dearly to the snake. Ultimately the body of snake became weaker and weaker and was about to die. The only desire ,the snake was nurturing ,was to see Gautam Budhha become his death.

  •           The sincere desire of snake shown its fruits and Gautam Budhha visited that village again. When Gautam Budhha was passing the village he saw group of children, playing under that bug Bunyan tree. The memory of the dangerous snake flickered across his mind. Gautam Budhha inquired about the dangerous snake. Children replied that the snake was no more dangerous . In fact the snake had become teeth less and harmless and was lying in his death bed. With sympathizing eye , Gautam Budhha searched for the snake and after much effort he found that snake was hiding himself in a cave near the Bunyan Tree. When Gautam Budhha asked the reason for such a condition , the snake replied that he had stopped biting anybody. He has stopped hiding anybody. Now everybody could bite him, could throw stones on his body. This was the reason how his body was injured. The snake further said but he was happy to see Gautam Budhha again.

  •          With tears in eyes and love in heart , Gautam Budhha said the snake that he could not understood the true meaning of non-violence. Gautam Budhha stopped the snake from biting others but not from hissing. Meaning of non-violence never warrants a person not to protect himself. While biting was prohibited but not hissing. By hissing you could have saved yourself. Gautam Budhha then advised the snake the true meaning of non-violence and left the village.

  •                 After that the snake began hissing. Though he never bitten anybody after ward but was able to save himself.

  •                   In a similar fashion in our daily life also we should not harm anybody. We should not rebuke any body. But we should equally be careful that people should not take us lightly. We can hiss and not bite others. We can act to be angry without being angry.

Wait One Revolutionary is meeting the Another

Every body knows about Sardar Bhagat Singh. Sardar Bhagat Singh is known as one of the Great Revolutionary who played a pivotal role in Indian Independence struggle. There are many revolutionaries who played important role in Indian Independence Struggle. But Sardar Bhagat Singh is different.

Readers would be surprised , why I am writing such blog in this spiritual space. I have reason to write this blog on Sardar Bhagat Singh on this spiritual space. There are two kind of spiritual person. Some are blindly spiritual. By faith they believe the existence of God. Others are atheist , who demand proof for existence of God.

Very few people know that Bhgat Singh was atheist. Bhagat Singh raised serious doubt about existence of God.  Bhagat Singh was very much skeptical about existence of God. The miseries, suffering of people shaken his faith in God. He has also written an article, which was published after his death. The name of article was " WHY I AM AN ATHEIST". The relevant excerpts of that article, written by Sardar Bhagat Singh has been reproduced as herein below:

Being atheist, I ask a few questions from theists:

1. If, as you believe there is an Almighty, Omnipresent, Omniscient God, who created the earth or universe, please let me know, first of all, as to why he  created this world. This world which is full of woe and grief, and countless miseries, where not even one person lives in peace.

2. Pray, don’t say it is His law. If He is bound by any law, He is not Omnipotent. Don’t say it is His pleasure. Nero burnt one Rome. He killed a very limited number of people. He caused only a few tragedies, all for his morbid enjoyment. But what is his place in history? By what names do we remember him? All the disparaging epithets are hurled at him. Pages are blackened with invective diatribes condemning Nero: the tyrant, the heartless, the wicked.

3.One Genghis Khan killed a few thousand people to seek pleasure in it and we hate the very name.

4. Now, how will you justify your all powerful, eternal Nero, who every day, every moment continues his pastime of killing people? How can you support his doings which surpass those of Genghis Khan in cruelty and in misery inflicted upon people? I ask why the Almighty created this world which is nothing but a living hell, a place of constant and bitter unrest. Why did he create man when he had the power not to do so? Have you any answer to these questions? You will say that it is to reward the sufferer and punish the evildoer in the hereafter. Well, well, how far will you justify a man who first of all inflicts injuries on your body and then applies soft and soothing ointment on them? How far the supporters and organizers of Gladiator bouts were justified in throwing men before half starved lions, later to be cared for and looked after well if they escaped this horrible death. That is why I ask: Was the creation of man intended to derive this kind of pleasure?"

One this was certain that Bhagat Singh was very firm in his conviction. This is important that he was having very short span of life. He died at the very young age of 23 years. He raised serious doubt about the existence of God. This is another this that he did not get the right answer. He did not came across the Spiritual Guru. Had he met a true spiritual Guru and got the guidance, he certainly would have attained the height.

This aspect of life of Bgahat Singh can not be overlooked that he was very genuine and serious   in what though, what he believed and what he acted.

Through out his life, Sardar Bhagat SIngh kept on denying the existence of God. On the day when he was to be hanged, senior jail warden Chhattar Singh requested Sardar Bhagat Singh to singh the glory of God. But Bhagat Singh denied the same and said if on the last day of my life, "I would take the name of God, People would say that I was afraid.

When the Jail Warden Chhattar Singh came to take Bhagat Singh for execution, Bhagat Singh was reading a book on Russian revolutionary Vladimir Lenin.  Bhagat Singh requested the Jail Warden and said " WAIT ONE REVOLUTIONARY IS MEETING THE ANOTHER".

What a height, what a confidence, what a self reliance, what a courage Bhagat Singh shown in his character. Words are not sufficient to describe the character of Bhagat Singh. Actually he was those few persons in this world, about whom it can be said that there was no any difference in his words and deed.

If what you seek , is seeking you, then why seeker is not meeting, what is the sought for?

It is a general saying that What You Seek is Seeking You. If it is so , then why the sought for (i.e. God ) is not meeting the seeker or seeker is discovering the sought for (i.e. God). It is very easy to say that God is looking and searching for us. If it is so, then why we deviate from our path. Why we are attracted to the lust, money or other worldly material. If God is searching us, then certainly he has to guide us in tracing him. But the reality is just opposite. If tread the path of God, people will laugh at you. If you are working in any office, it is very easy to talk about politics, movies, girls, foods, clothes etc. It is very difficult to find a companion with whom you can speak about God. It looks as if God has created all these hindrances so that it is not convenient to seek him.

You seek about movie and you find movie theater. You look for clothes, you find the multiples mall easily. But what about God. Go and ask questions to so called Spiritual Leaders, Spiritual Guru and ask for their experience regarding proof of god, and you do not find definite answered.

I have met various so called spiritual leaders, spiritual Gurus and asked about their spiritual experience about the God. But I receive only hesitating answer, that too also in Negative. I do not want to name such leaders.

I have also read many books like GOD SPEAKS by MEHER BABA, LAW OF SPIRIT WORLD by KHORSHID BHAWNAGRI, AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF YOGI by Yogananda Paramhansa, Gospel of Shri Ramakrishna. But the end result is confusion. Each book gives different account of God. If God is seeking us then why the same is confusing us by providing so diverse ways of following him. Ramakrishna says money and women has to be avoided on the path of God. While Osho and Modern Gurus says just contrary. In fact in word of Osho, without treading the path of sex , it is difficult to follow the path of God for modern man.

For Vedanta, the seeking has to follow the ascetic path. The path the self restraint. While the path of tantra (the Left Marg) to utilize women and wine for attaining the Samadhi. It is Just incomprehensible to believe that just two contradictory path lead to realization of same God.

When you look to go nearer to a particular cities or places , then on the way you start meeting land marks, evidencing that the path, you are following , is going to lead you to your destination. In fact on the ways, you find many stones, indicating the distance which is yet to be covered in reaching the destination. But in case of God, things are just contradictory. The more people you approaches to seek advise regarding the God, the more disappointment comes to you. The more book you read to tread the path of God, the more confusion you creates for yourself. The more you discuss the topic of people around, the more alone you become. The more you tread the path of truth, the difficult your life become.

Then how it can be said that WHAT YOU SEEK, IS SEEKING YOU?????

In   fact , truth is that What we seek, creates hindrance in being sought for.

Why God Does Not Live in Temple?

In ancient days, God used to live in temple. We have heard of may stories that a man sat in Temple and asked for a boon. After few days of prayer, God Appeared and bestowed upon the person , the desired boon.
There are many instances , which are found mention in old Ancient Sacred books.Presently , when we go to temple and try to see the god, we never find any traces of God , do you know why?Actually once upon a time, God was tired of increasing demands of  human. Lots of human were going to Temple and asking for boons.
Somebody was asking for money. Somebody was desirous of power. While some body was asking for mental peace. Because of increasing demands of the human, the God become restless and wanted to take mental peace.
Having seen this, Saitan approached the God and asked him , the reason for his restlessness. The God replied that because of increasing demands of human, he was becoming restless. God sought advise of Saitan, please tell me place, where human could not reach easily.
Saitan replied that he would tell the safest place, only in case God would allow the saitan to live in Temple. God Agreed. Saitan replied that it is the heart of human, which was the safest place. Human would go every where, but would never search in his heart. The answered of Saitan satisfied the God.
From that time God started to live in hearts of every human being. and as per the agreement, the God had left the place of Temple for Saitan. This is why God do not live in temple.

Yashodhara's Question

I have heard this that when Gautam Budhha returned to Yashodhara after realization, she asked him why he left her and went to forest in search of God. Whether Gautam Budhha could have achieved the God even in her company or not? Gautam Budhha could not answer as he knew that God was also present in the presence of Yashodhara also. Hence there was no need to leave Yashodhara.

But I have got an answer to question of Yashodhara in another Story. Rinjhai was a Zen Saint. When he went to his Guru and asked how the God could be realized? Guru taught him various methods. For many years Rinjhai practiced those methods, but failed. Being fed up of his practicing various Sadhanas , he again went to his Guru and asked for realization. And Guru said Be the God. And that very moment Rijhai realized the God.

There is another story of Guru Nanak. Once upon a time, Guru Nanak was sleeping and his legs were lying towards the direction, where mosque was situated. Having seen this one Man gets angry and rebuked Guru Nanak saying that by putting the legs in the direction, where the mosque is situated, Guru Nanak was undermining the Glory of Allah.

Then Guru Nanak requested the man to put his legs in the direction, where Allah was not there. And it was a matter of surprise that in what ever direction, legs of Guru Nanak were kept, Mosque kept on appearing. It proved that Allah was every where.

Now let us begin again, Yashodhara asked the question, whether Gautam Budhha could not have achieved the God even in her presence and that going to forest and doing may Sadhana were useless. Similar questions were put to Rinjhai that if in a fraction of  moment, God could have been realized , then what was need for doing Sadhanas for many years. Rinjhai answered that God could have been realized in a fraction of moment, but without doing many Sadhanas and  Practices,  the Mind could not have been broken. Without doing Sadhanas and practices of many years, the futility of doing Sadhanas could not have been realized. And the Story of Guru Nanak establishes that God or Allah is everywhere. All these 3 stories form part of chain. One regarding putting the question regarding futility of various ways for search for God, Another is answer of that and the third one is regarding proof of Allah or God.

Only this man

In whole of the universe is only this man,
Who run after money for hunger & pain.

looking for house or yearning for cash,
Neither such animal nor bird I trace.

Under depression with gloomy face,
indigence in plenty are human traits.

Enough have shelter & enough have wool,
But man never die with his stomach full.

For Quenching her thirst near a Bank,
Bird never worried  preparing a tank.

Deprived of shelter, and wanting in bread,
never with empty gut, found animal dead.

Celebration of Death

You
The golden
morning rays.

Of Bright
Warm and
Sunny Days.

and I
dew on
greeny grass.

Shine
like a
tiny glass.

Either
You hug me
Or I
either touch thee.

One thing
But certain
The grass
Gets unburden.

And me
To loose sight
The tiny my life.

But why this
eagerness so
I can not
Wait.

What is this joy
and
Celebration of Death.

Temptation

Once in a while
in a beautiful plain,
When I was roaming
Then It has happened.

Surrounded by many
and reading their hand,
surprisingly found
I, Astrologist friend.

Seeking opinion of
friend or a foe,
was anti to pride
and anti my ego.

But such was desire
I could not resist ,
From knowing my future
And showing my hand.
